Shopping
Food Lion is about 15 miles from our house in a shopping area that also includes a video rental store, ABC liquor store, and ACE Hardware. This is where we usually do our shopping for the week. There is another Food Lion up I85 in South Hill, near Walmart. The Holly Grove Marina, about five minutes drive or boat ride from the house, is convenient for quick needs like milk, beer, condiments and they also serve sandwiches, as is the J.B. Jones Store and Bakery (1823 Blackridge Road, La Crosse, VA 23950; 434-636-2243).
Golf
There are two golf courses within five miles of our house. The first is a public nine-hole course called River Ridge (434-636-3351); and the second is a private course called Tanglewood Shores (434-636-2254).
